Kiss Me Like A Leaf (SL Speaks ver.)   Leave a comment

Kiss me like a leaf
Being blessed by morning dew.
Hold me in your gravity
As Jupiter holds its moons.
Crave me, need me, want me,
As a hammer wants for nails.
Hunt me with your passion,
Like a dog chasing its tail.
Sculpt me with caresses;
Be an artist to my clay.
Explore my every facet
Like a guide who knows the way.
Help me pierce the silence
Like a shrill and high pitched scream.
Let me dance inside your head
Like a fondly cherished dream.
Kiss me like a leaf
Being blessed by morning dew.
Oh please, darling, love me
As much as I love you.

Memory/Inside My Mind (Salt Lake Speaks ver.)   Leave a comment

As my memory stills
Lost inside a dream
Moving as fate wills
Down the living stream
As I'm laid to rest
As I fade from view
As life leaves my chest
I will dream of you.

Inside my mind
I find you here
Our ties that bind
Will bring us near
No need to stay
You can be free
Just one more day
Here next to me.

As my memory stills inside my mind.
Lost inside a dream, I find you here.
Moving as fate wills, our ties that bind
Down the living stream, will bring us near.
As I'm laid to rest, no need to stay.
As I fade from view, you can be free.
As life leaves my chest, just one more day
I will dream of you, here next to me.

Summer Love (A Ketek)   Leave a comment

Summer Love.
We wonder of full-time adventures,
Finding friends,
Embracing loved ones,
Craving running free.
Happily dreaming of memories.
Warm memories of dreams:
Happy, free, running.
Craving one's love's embrace.
Friends finding adventure.
Times full of wonder.
We love summer.

Love Yourself (National Poetry Writing Month 2024 #30)   Leave a comment

One of the hardest things to learn
Is how to unconditionally love;
It starts with loving yourself.

You know what you hate about yourself ;
You've had a whole lifetime to learn
To build a wall hiding all there is to love.

But love is greatest as unconditional love
And you always put harsh conditions on yourself.
Those conditions make it hard to truly learn.

If you want to be happy and healthy in life, learn to love yourself.

Disappear (National Poetry Writing Month 2024 #6)   Leave a comment

Without you I can't breathe,
But you've cut off my oxygen.
My thoughts revolve around you;
So why did you disappear?

I'm only half a person
When you're not here with me.
I stumble around, incomplete
When, again, you disappear.

Desperately I cry for you,
"Please don't leave me alone!"
I'm frightened by this future
Where you really disappear.

You are the reason I exist;
The purpose in my life.
If you no longer call me yours
I know I'll disappear.

Please don't walk away from me.
Don't take away my self.
Without you, I'm a fading dream
Without you, I will disappear.

Along the lake (National Poetry Writing Month 2022 #3)   Leave a comment

I skip along the rocks again
Just like we used to do
And dance along the memories
Of when our love was true

I throw a stone into the lake
And shatter all it's glass
The ripples move like memories
Like echoes of our past

I sit my self upon the shore
And stare into the trees
And hear the words you said to me
Scatter upon the breeze

I take a breath and close my eyes
And focus on your face
For one last time I say goodbye
And drift off into space

Opposites   Leave a comment

You and I are:

Peanut butter and a cheese burger,
Strawberries and pizza,
Whiskey and grape juice,
Pop music and death metal.

Two things which seem wrong together.
But, for a few select people,
We are perfectly matched.

Let’s Die Together, Shall We? (National Poetry Writing Month 2019 #7)   Leave a comment

Suicidal thoughts ought to be shared with those closest to you.
It is what Romeo and Juliet taught us all to do.
They were a comedy of errors, a tragedy of youth.
Let’s die together, shall we?

Where I have gotten older, both much meeker and much bolder;
Although I could continue to shoulder this burden with you,
This boulder is too heavy, and I am not getting stronger.
So let’s just give in, shall we?

Those who surround us, who don’t understand, would call it a waste.
Haven’t we had enough of life to know it isn’t for us?
We will never aquire from life our life’s aquired taste.
So let’s spit it out, shall we?

For it isn’t real true love if I only give you my life
And so I pledge my existence, my story’s ending, to you.
With this final act our love springs eternal for all to view.
Let’s die together, shall we?
