Egg
Yolk
Breakfast
Over easy
A sunny side up
The start of a simple custard

Future Mistakes (National Poetry Writing Month 2021 #11)   Leave a comment

Oft unheeded guidance for us

Why not learn?
Ego?
Pride?
Joy?
Love?
Mercy?
Something else?
We may never know

Breath: A Fib (National Poetry Writing Month 2021 #8)   Leave a comment

Life
Breath
I gasp
The light blinds
The air rushes in
I cry defiance to the world

I relax and breathe out relief
As time slips away
The light dims
I sigh
Breath
Life
