Punch (National Poetry Writing Month 2017 #19)   1 comment

It starts with the balls of your feet
Tough from walking on the street
Tough from carrying the weight of the world
Then it moves from your knees to your hips
As experience slips
From the beginning to your prime of your life
From your hips to your chest
‘Cause you’re giving it your best
Its your one shot, gotta make this chance count
Make your arm shoot forward
As you keep moving forward
To meet the goal you’ve been fighting for all this time
Finally ending at your fist
All this energy exists
For the moment that you finally decide to
Punch!
