Rainy Day (National Poetry Writing Month 2023 #18)   Leave a comment

Rainy day, wash away
The person who I used to be
The person who I didn't see,
The person that I couldn't love

Rainy day, wash away
The painful, bitter memories,
The heartbreaks and the agonies,
The times I had to rise above.

Rainy day, wash away
The boulders getting in my way,
The struggles I choose to downplay,
The ropes and chains bound around me.

Rainy day, wash away
All of the sins of yesterday,
All of the ills I have today,
And let me live a future free.

Pleasant Day (National Poetry Writing Month 2018 #23)   Leave a comment

Skies so blue, and trees so green
Gentle winds, my mind feels clean
The sunlight warms, my worries fade
Shade so cool, my fears allayed
This pleasant day, I feel at peace
Through it’s charm, I find release

Talking Weather (National Poetry Writing Month 2018 #15)   Leave a comment

One day it’s raining,
The next there is sun.
Maybe a blizzard?
A drought has begun!?

Utah weather is far too bipolar,
As summer and winter fight back and forth.
At least the weather is good for solar.
Although it’s just weather, for what it’s worth.

It’s a dull topic
Used to fill silence.
Although I’m myopic
About it’s presence.

Utah Weather (National Poetry Writing Month 2017 #28)   Leave a comment

Utah weather; There is nothing better
Than wearing shorts in snow

Or bringing sunscreen and an umbrella
Wherever you may go

Always be prepared, just like a boy scout
Because you never know

If you are going to melt with heat stroke
Or if winter will show.
