Cracks (National Poetry Writing Month 2024 #25)   Leave a comment

I don't know if I can be
The person you want
I'm only a shell
A thin layer of Shellac
You like what you see for now
But at the first bump
The cracks will appear
And you'll see what lies within
See the empty windswept void
Haunted with the shades
And empty eyed souls
That make up the space within
Please recoil in horror
Run away from me
Find someone normal
I don't mind, I understand
Memories of us together
Will stay forever
Ghastly, pale, alone
'Til the next time a crack forms

Nihility (National Poetry Writing Month 2024 #23)   Leave a comment

Affix the mind on nothing
Using missing screws
Let your mind wander
Until it's finally lost
Drift, and cease to drift
In the never ending void
Forget your life's purpose
Discard all you hold dear
For in true nothingness
You will discover everything

No Idea (National Poetry Writing Month 2024 #11)   Leave a comment

Someone pulled out the stopper
My ideas swirled down the drain
I only have the scarecrow
"If I only had a brain!"
Tumbleweed is in my skull
My track has misplaced its train
Today I'm taking a break Tomorrow I'll think again
