Merchant of Woe (National Poetry Writing Month 2020 #19)   Leave a comment

I am the merchant of woe
I bring my wares with me wherever I go
My goods are always to blame
Even when bought under a different name
The price is never a lot
At first, but soon it takes everything you’ve got
Pray you don’t see me around
With me, only pain and misery abound
