I’m Still Broken (National Poetry Writing Month 2015 #27)   Leave a comment

It doesn’t matter how much progress I make,
Or how many steps I continue to take.
I’m still broken.

It doesn’t matter how much I try
Or how many times I ask myself why?
I’m still broken.

It makes no difference what I do,
Doesn’t matter what work I put myself through
I’m still broken.

I know that I’ll never be enough
I’m just a piece of glass. Jagged, rough,
And still broken.

Clean (National Poetry Writing Month #27)   Leave a comment

Cleanliness
is close to
godliness,
some say
If that
is the case,
I must be
the devil.
